Dehradun, 3 Jun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan today held a meeting at the Secretariat with departments concerned to review student tracking and mapping under the Education Department. On this occasion, he instructed the Education, Technical Education and Health Departments to jointly develop a single platform for tracking and mapping the complete activities of students from birth, covering their educational and health records. He also directed that all children be issued ABHA and APAR IDs.

Bardhan emphasised that, through ABHA and APAR IDs, education and health tracking is already being undertaken, but both the platforms needed to be further upgraded to create a mechanism that maintains data from birth, including immunisation, admission to Anganwadi centres, entry into schools and subsequent academic achievements. He stressed that data should be compiled from immunisation after birth to admission in anganwadi and schools until school pass‑out. The system should automatically send SMS alerts to parents when a child becomes eligible for immunisation or school admission, while departments should also be able to follow up on the child’s progress.

For this purpose, Bardhan directed all departments concerned, NIC and ITDA to conduct brainstorming sessions and prepare a unified platform, with instructions to convene another meeting soon to review progress.

Among those present at the meeting included Secretaries Ravinath Raman, Vinay Shankar Pandey, C Ravishankar, Additional Secretary Reena Joshi and senior officers of the departments concerned.
