Uttarkashi, 3 Jul: With the objective of inspiring youth to actively participate in the process of nation-building and fostering serious discourse on the opportunities and challenges facing them, a special motivational seminar, titled ‘Youth for Tomorrow’, will be organised at Shrimati Manjira Devi University, Uttarkashi, on 9 June. The central theme of the seminar has been designated as “The Role of Youth in Nation-Building: Opportunities and Challenges for the Youth.” Siddhi Johari (Siddhi Somani Johari) will serve as the keynote speaker at the event. She is a renowned model, social activist, and the winner of the ‘Mrs India International’ and ‘Mrs Galaxy Queen India’ beauty pageants. Her accomplishments are not limited merely to the world of fashion and glamour; she is also a qualified Clinical Biochemist (Gold Medallist), an entrepreneur, and a social worker.

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Bhagwan Nautiyal, stated that the concept of ‘Youth for Tomorrow’ has been developed by placing the decisive role of the youth in building the India of the future at its very core. The present era is an era of knowledge, skills, technology, and innovation. In such times, the youth must not limit themselves solely to academic achievements but must also cultivate leadership capabilities, social sensitivity, entrepreneurship, and creative thinking.

He further remarked that, alongside boundless possibilities, numerous challenges also confront the youth in the contemporary world. While the widespread dissemination of information in the digital age has opened new avenues of opportunity, issues such as intense competition, value crises, and social responsibility also demand serious contemplation. This seminar will provide the youth with an opportunity to reflect upon all these dimensions and to chart a new direction for their personal development and future.

The University’s President, Dr Harishankar Nautiyal, affirmed that the youth constitute the greatest strength and an invaluable asset of any nation. It is their ideas, energy, spirit of innovation, and dedication to action that pave the way for the nation’s progress. He stated that India is currently one of the youngest nations in the world. In this context, providing proper direction to the talent, skills, and creative potential of the youth is the paramount need of the hour. If the youth move forward with a positive mindset, strong ethical values, and a sense of social responsibility, the dream of a developed and self-reliant India can be realised swiftly.

He emphasised that the objective of education is not merely to secure employment, but to cultivate responsible citizens capable of fulfilling their duties toward society and the nation. Guided by this very mission, the university is continuously striving to foster the holistic development of its youth.

Academicians, university representatives, innovative educators, researchers, social workers, and students from various parts of the country will participate in this seminar. During the programme, experts will provide guidance on topics such as nation-building, leadership development, personality enrichment, skill development, innovation, self-employment, and social responsibility.
