Mussoorie, 26 Feb: Central School for Tibetans, Mussoorie, celebrated its 50th Graduation Day with great enthusiasm and verve. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the sacred lamp and offering holy scarves before the portrait of Hthe Dalai Lama by the Principal and other invitees.
Outgoing students of class XII also offered prayers to seek blessings from the Dalai Lama. This year, 93 students are appearing for the CBSE class XII examination. A melodious Tibetan musical ensemble was presented by a group of junior students in honour of the guests and the outgoing students, which enthralled one and all in the audience.
Keema Tsering of class XI delivered a speech and Md Naved of class XI sang a song. The Principal advised the outgoing students to pursue good careers and contribute to the community and society at large by being good human beings. Various faculty members also addressed the gathering and stressed that focus, preparation, diligence, and passion, were always the key ingredients of success. The outgoing students of class XII were felicitated by organisations like RTWA (Regional Tibetan Women’s Association), RTYC (Regional Tibetan Youth Congress), LTC (Local Tibetan Community) followed by CST and Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie.
The outgoing Captain of the school, Karma Phuntsok, became a bit emotional while expressing his heartfelt thanks to the school authorities, staff members and the entire institution for the affection and love they received. The seniormost teacher, Asit Katyayan, proposed the vote of thanks.
The 50th Graduation Day celebration was also marked by group photography. The programme was planned and coordinated by Subas Chandra Rauto with the help of Tenzin Phuntsok and teachers Sweta Aggarawal, Manjeet Singh, Pankaj Patiyal, Jagmohan Lakheda, VK Sharma, Pradeep Kumar and NC Pant.
