Ukhimath (Rudraprayag), 6 May: The Dev Doli of Lord Kedarnath’s Panchmukhi idol left this morning for Kedarnath from Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath. The Dev Doli reached Guptkashi this afternoon, where it is due to have a night halt. On the occasion of the departure of the Dev Doli from Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, the Omkareshwar Temple in general and the Panchkedar Gaddisthal were specially decorated with flowers by Badri-Kedar Temple Committee. It may be recalled that Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath is the winter abode of Lord Kedarnath and his Panchmukhi idol. Late last evening, the preparations had begun at the Omkareshwar temple for the departure of the Dev Doli with the worship of Bhairav Nath. The portals of Kedarnath shrine are due to open on 10 May. The Dev Doli will reach Kedarnath on 9 May, one day before the portals open for the new season.
