DEHRADUN, 19 Jan: Director General of Doordarshan Supriya Sahu, met the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at his on Saturday. The Chief Minister said that Doordarshan is a powerful and reliable medium of publicity. Doordarshan is doing publicity and information dissemination through social media, which is attracting the youth. He said that besides Char Dham, there are many important and famous places in Uttarakhand, which need to be brought before the world . In this Doordarshan can play an important role.
Rawat said that in Uttarakhand there are many famous religious places like Duryodhana, Rahu, Chandrma, Ashtavakra, Tadkeshwar Sidh, which can provide a special identity to Uttarakhand. There are many tourist places in Uttarakhand and through their extensive publicity, Uttarakhand can be provided special recognition in the country and abroad. The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is a state with rich culture. He expected that youth be given opportunity to make their talent better through Doordarshan.
Sahu said that Doordarshan is preparing to launch DD Uttarakhand Channel, which will be seen in the entire country. She said that through this channel, information of the activities and schemes of the state government will be provided. She said that news bulletin of Uttarakhand will be telecast soon.
DG Doordarshan further added that a project of “Shabas Uttarakhand”, 52 episodes on Uttarakhand women, children and youth is being made. She said that folk dances of Uttarakhand are famous all over the country. Reality shows will be canned on dances by Doordarshan by visiting each of the districts. Singing Star of Uttarakhand programme will be made for bringing out the talent of songs of youth of Uttarakhand.
