DGP Deepam Seth briefed on activities of Uttarakhand Film Development Council

Dehradun, 21 Jan: Dr Nitin Upadhyay, Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Uttarakhand Film Development Council, met Director General of Police, Deepam Seth, at the Police Headquarters today and briefed him about the activities of the Council.

Dr Upadhyay informed DGP Seth about the new Film Policy 2024 and highlighted the critical role the police department plays in promoting film shoots. He explained that each district has appointed a nodal officer in the police department to streamline the process of granting shooting permissions, making it easier for filmmakers. He further mentioned that filmmakers, both domestic and international, are drawn to Uttarakhand due to its peaceful environment and effective law and order, which fosters an ideal atmosphere for film production.

Deepam Seth appreciated the Uttarakhand Film Policy and assured that the police department would provide all possible cooperation to ensure a conducive environment for filmmakers. He also mentioned that a joint meeting would be convened soon with all district police chiefs, district nodal officers, and the Film Development Council to discuss the shooting permission process and other related matters. Seth emphasised that Uttarakhand Police would extend full support in making the state an exemplary film-friendly destination.

On this occasion, Dr Upadhyay presented a memento of the Uttarakhand Film Development Council and a booklet on the new Film Policy to the Director General of Police.
