Uttarkashi, 21 Jan: In view of the Mahakumbh 2025, a cyclothon has been organised by ‘Atulya Ganga’, an NGO founded by military veterans. The cyclothon was flagged off from Uttarkashi on 20 January by the Principal of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Colonel Anshuman Bhadauria. The cyclothon will reach its destination at Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj on 31 January.
The ten-member cycling team from different walks of life will undertake the arduous journey from Uttarkashi to Mahakumbh, Prayagraj, covering approximately 1200 kms over twelve days.
The cyclists will spread awareness on Ganga Rejuvenation through community engagements and will also undertake Plantation Drives enroute.
Atulya Ganga was founded in 2020 with an aim to spread awareness amongst the populace on the need to rejuvenate Ganga.
