CM takes serious note of cyber-attack on govt websites

Dehradun, 5 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a very serious note of the recent cyber-attack on many government web-portals, many of which are yet to be restored. In this respect, the CM held a meeting with all top officials, experts, top police officers and senior officials of the State Data Centre SWAN, NIC and ITDA related to the State Data Centre at his residence here today.
During the meeting, the CM directed the officials to complete the scanning of the State Data Centre at the earliest and restore the websites of the departments related to public interest on a priority basis. The CM stressed that it should be ensured that all the sites start operating by Monday. The Chief Minister said that such malware attacks should not be allowed to be repeated. He directed constitution of a Cyber Security Task Force at the earliest to ensure security of the online services. He said that with the help of the best agencies of the Government of India working in the field of IT, the security system of the State Data Centre should be upgraded with latest technological help and that the safety audit of the State Data Centre online sites should also be ensured within the stipulated time.
Dhami emphasised that a disaster recovery centre should be established for the security of the online platform and recovery of online data related to various departments. He said that the best practices of the states, central ministries and agencies doing the best work in cyber security should be studied and implemented in the state. The Chief Minister said that the company doing technical work in ITDA should be reviewed again, if any kind of negligence is found during the review, then action should be taken against the company.
