CM heads 1st ever review meet of Programme Implementation Dept

Dehradun, 9 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held the first review meeting of the Programme Implementation Department at the Secretariat, here, today. During the meeting, he directed that the benefit of the public welfare schemes of the central and state governments should reach the targeted beneficiaries and that it be ensured that most of the public’s problems are resolved on the spot.

Dhami asserted that, to prevent corruption, display boards of toll free number 1064 must be put up in all offices. The CM warned that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

He added that regular reports should be obtained from the vigilance department on the action taken regarding all the complaints received related to corruption.

The Chief Minister instructed all the SSPs that matters related to investigation at the district level, pending for more than one year, should be disposed of within three months by launching a special campaign. It should be ensured that there is speedy disposal of matters related to investigations.

The Chief Minister also instructed that a record be maintained of how many times in a month public representatives and officers visit the chaupals of gram sabhas. The Programme Implementation Department should also keep complete updates on this. He directed all the District Magistrates to visit Gram Sabha Chaupals regularly and also send other district level officers there on a regular basis. The DMs were also asked to submit monthly reports on village visits, monthly reports of BDC and Tehsil Days and complaints received as well as regular reports on action taken for their disposal to the Programme Implementation Department. The Chief Minister issued strict instructions that action be taken against officials who do not attend to public representatives and common people on solving problems. If, for some reason, the officers are not able to receive calls at a particular time, they must call back later.

The CM stated that the Commissioners of Garhwal and Kumaon should conduct regular reviews in their divisions for quick redressal of public problems and successful implementation of all the schemes being run by the government.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reminded the District Magistrates that the monsoon season is about to begin. All were asked to prepare action plans from now to prevent water logging in vulnerable areas and also check if there is any possibility of debris falling down or flowing during the rains. All the officers in the districts were asked to remain in alert mode. District officers were told to hold a review meeting of income-expenditure every month in the districts. The minutes of these reviews are to be sent to the Chief Minister’s Office. Urgent tasks should be completed in a timely manner. Special care should be taken to ensure that the condition of the roads is good everywhere. If there is any delay, the District Magistrates should immediately inform the government, also the reasons. He added that the works of Jal Jeevan Mission should be expedited in all the districts. Complete preparations were required to effectively deal with diseases like dengue and malaria, which will be seen in the coming months.

Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, Secretary, Programme Implementation Department, Deepak Kumar Gairola, Commissioner, Kumaon, Deepak Rawat, all District Magistrates, Senior Superintendents of Police and officers concerned were present at the meeting through virtual medium.
