Dhami instructs Home, Police Depts to be in alert mode on Holi

Dehradun, 3 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today instructed the Home and Police Department to ensure special monitoring of the law and order situation in view of the upcoming Holi festival in the state.

The CM was reviewing the preparations for Holi festival during a meeting held here today. He also reviewed the performance of the Home and the Police Departments on the occasion. He said that the police department should make concrete arrangements regarding Holi and that special vigilance exercised in the districts bordering the state on this occasion.

The CM directed Director General of Police Ashok Kumar to review the preparations in this regard with the Senior Superintendents of Police of all the districts. He said that the police officers should ensure that no disorder or untoward incident of any kind takes place during the festival. He said that no disorder or disturbance of any kind would be tolerated.

Dhami said that the police department should complete its preparations well in time to ensure that the law and order is strictly maintained. He said that the Police officers should keep constant vigil on the arrangements. Special monitoring should be done of anti-social elements and suspicious people. They should remain alert and active in the field. He further said that this festival of gaiety and enthusiasm has been traditionally celebrated in a peaceful and cordial atmosphere in Uttarakhand and this tradition should not be broken.

Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi and Director General of Police Ashok Kumar were present at the meeting.
