Dhami launches ‘Guldasta’ on Hindi Journalism Day, applauds media’s role

Dehradun, 30 May:  Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today unveiled ‘Guldasta,’ a souvenir brought out by the Uttaranchal Press Club, at his official residence on the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day.
While extending his best wishes to the members of the Uttaranchal Press Club and all journalists on this occasion, CM Dhami underlined the important role of journalism as the fourth pillar of democracy. He said that journalism plays a key role in connecting the government with the public, bringing people’s issues to the authorities and spreading information about government schemes to everyone. This, he added, not only helps in the overall development of the country and the state but also strengthens the spirit of nation-building and public welfare among the people.
Dhami further asserted that the media is an important part of democracy and has a big contribution in the development of the state, He also claimed that the state government has started important welfare schemes for journalists and their families.
The event was attended by several senior journalists, including Uttaranchal Press Club President Bhupendra Singh Kandari, Club Secretary Surendra Singh Dasila, Sandeep Badola, Manish Dangwal, Raman Jaiswal, and Kishore Rawat, among others.
