Dehradun, 22 August: In a move aimed at strengthening the state’s healthcare framework, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the extension of the SD ACP (Assured Career Progression) benefit to officers of the Provincial Medical Services cadre. The decision is being hailed as a major relief for medical professionals serving across Uttarakhand according to the government and, in this regard, due orders have been passed under the signature of Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar.
The CM has stated that doctors form the backbone of the state’s health services and continue to serve with unwavering commitment even in the challenging terrains of the hills and remote rural regions. He reiterated that safeguarding the interests of doctors remains a top priority for the government. The provision of ACP benefits, he said, would not only offer financial empowerment but also deepen the sense of service and dedication among medical officers. He assured that the government stands firmly with its doctors and health workers in all circumstances.
Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar elaborated that, in accordance with Government Order (GO) No 654 dated 14 July 2016 and GO No 154 dated 4 February 2019, ACP benefits will be extended to Provincial Medical Services cadre officers based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee. Under the scheme, a total of 196 posts have been earmarked across various levels. At Level 11, 70 posts have been sanctioned with a grade pay of Rs 5400. Level 12 comprises 56 posts with a grade pay of Rs 6600. Level 13 has been bifurcated into two categories, with 27 posts carrying a grade pay of Rs 7600 and 43 posts carrying a grade pay of Rs 8700. Collectively, these posts account for the full allocation under the scheme.
The decision is expected to benefit a substantial number of medical officers and contribute meaningfully to the enhancement of healthcare delivery across the state, particularly in underserved and geographically difficult areas.
