Dehradun, 13 Dec: Doon International School Riverside Campus celebrated its 10th Founder’s Day with great enthusiasm in its premises, marking a decade of excellence in academics and holistic education.

The Chief Guest was Professor Durgesh Pant, Director, Uttarakhand Council for Science and Technology (UCOST). The celebrations began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising wisdom, harmony and reverence for the Almighty. The event was attended by the Chairman, DS Mann, the Founder Principal, MK Mann, School Directors Harinder Singh Mann & Sonika Mann, Principal Ajith Jacob and Vice Principal Anju Varma.

The programme opened with a soulful musical invocation by students, titled Divine Melodious Fusion, blending global rhythms with Indian classical soul. The performance journeyed from a cinematic instrumental of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly to a spirited Tarana in Veer Ras and the devotional Hanuman Chalisa, culminating in energetic a cappella and instrumental pieces that left the audience spellbound, reflecting India’s rich tradition of unity and spiritual harmony.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Ajith Jacob highlighted the school’s ten-year journey, vision and achievements, and acknowledged the collective efforts of students, teachers and parents in shaping the institution.

Meritorious students were felicitated by the Chief Guest for their exemplary achievements. The Student of the Year Awards were presented to Shwant Das and Ayana Bardhan, while Rajnandini and Ansh Bhardwaj received the Sports Person of the Year Awards. The prestigious Best House Award was secured by Lincoln House, recognising consistent all-round excellence.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of two long-serving staff members, Priti Kaushik and Pratima Gurung, who were honoured for completing 10 years of dedicated and sincere service at Doon International School Riverside Campus, drawing warm appreciation from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Durgesh Pant commended the students for their scientific outlook and commendable efforts. He encouraged them to pursue excellence with dedication and extended an invitation to visit his institute, inspiring them to aspire for greater heights.

The cultural segment enthralled the gathering with vibrant performances. The tiny tots charmed the audience with a lively presentation of The Jungle Book, depicting the adventurous journey of Mowgli and celebrating themes of friendship, courage and belonging. This was followed by a powerful senior school presentation, Geeta Saar – The Eternal Echo of Duty, inspired by the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, portraying the values of dharma, duty and righteous action through expressive dance and drama.

The programme concluded with the Director, Harinder Singh Mann expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants and organisers, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
