Dehradun, 30 Sep: District Magistrate Savin Bansal held a Janata Durbar at the Rishiparna auditorium in the Collectorate, here, today. A total of 131 complaints were received during the Janata Durbar, most of which were resolved by the DM on the spot.

As has been the trend in Dehradun for the past several years, most of the complaints were related to land disputes or possession. Speaking on the occasion, DM Savin Bansal observed that the purpose of holding a public court is to hear the complaints and problems of the people and resolve them at the earliest.

Bansal said that it appears the public makes rounds of the departments for their work and their problems are also not resolved quickly. In such a situation, the complainants bring their complaints to the District Collectorate. He added that the officers concerned should resolve the complaints and problems as soon as possible.

In the public hearing, on the demand of starting roadways bus service in Chakrata-Kansi-Barondha-Khabou-Kota Taptar, the District Magistrate directed the Regional Transport Officer to take action as soon as possible in view of the problem of the people of the area. On the demand of upgrading a Government Primary School operating in Chakrata as a school of excellence, the Chief Education Officer has been directed to take action. At the same time, the concerned SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to take action on land related complaints. The DM said that clear instructions have been given to the officers concerned to solve the problems of the general public and that they have also been told that they will be held accountable if the problems of the people are not solved early.
