Dehradun, 2 Dec: A Janta Darshan was organised today in the Rishiparna Auditorium at the Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Savin Bansal. During the hearing, 96 complaints were received including those related to land issues, land occupation, encroachment on government land, compensation, mutual disputes, Municipal Corporation matters, tourism, women welfare, and marking forest land for road construction. Today’s hearing also included complaints related to senior citizens, the Tourism Department, the Municipal Corporation, the Forest Department, the Police, and the Municipal Corporation, Child Development Department.
The DM lent a patient ear to the complaints of senior citizens and directed the officers to make special efforts to resolve their problems so that senior citizens do not have to wander around to get their problems resolved.
During the public hearing, an elderly resident of Haripur, Rishikesh, complained that his land was being illegally occupied by land mafia, prompting the SDM, Rishikesh, to take action. On the complaint of encroachment on government land in village Salan under Tehsil Sadar, the SDM, Sadar, was directed to inspect and take action. A resident of Chandrabani complained about an attempt to occupy his land, on which the Tehsildar, Sadar, was directed to submit an investigation report and take due action. On a pending application by a woman statehood agitationist, the Officer In-charge at the Collectorate was directed to submit a report within three days, along with the reason for the pending application.
Shockingly, a lady Pratiksha Chauhan had been trying for past 8 months to get her name registered in the Khatauni document for inheritance following the death of her husband but no action had been taken by the officials in this regard, forcing the woman to run around. When she shared her problem with the DM, today, he ordered immediate action on her complaint. In compliance with the instructions, SDM, Sadar, Kumkum Joshi got the woman’s name registered in the records, today, itself.
In Kharsi Gram Panchayat of Chakrata development block, debris had been lying in the beds and canals of Gangasu for 23 years without disposal by the Irrigation Department. The District Magistrate took serious note of the complaint and instructed the officials to present an investigation report and take action.
A woman resident of Jakhan in Vikasnagar complained that her house was damaged in a disaster on 16 August 2023, and her husband’s name was not mentioned in the records, delaying the issuance of a lease for the disaster-affected. Bansal directed the officials to register the name in the records and issue an order in this regard at the earliest.
Residents of Chamasari urged the DM for marking the land under the Forest Department for the construction of the Barlongganj-Chamasari Motor Road. DFO, Mussoorie, was directed to take action.
Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, ADM (Administration) Jai Bharat Singh, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Municipal Corporation) Bir Singh Budiyal, SP, Rural, Jaya Baluni, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kumkum Joshi, Director (Rural Development Agency) Vikram Singh, District Development Officer Sunil Kumar, District Probation Officer Meena Bisht, and officers of all the departments concerned were present at the hearing.
