Dehradun, 2 Jan: District Magistrate Savin Bansal convened a meeting at the Rishiparna Auditorium at the District Collectorate here this evening to address the issue of unregistered Madrasas operating in the district. The meeting, attended by key officials, discussed conducting surveys and regulating these institutions. The DM instructed all Sub-District Magistrates (SDMs) to identify and submit details about unregistered Madrasas in their respective areas. He directed that this task be carried out in coordination with the District Minority Welfare Officer and the Education Department.
Bansal made it clear that a comprehensive survey would be conducted to ensure that actions are taken according to the prescribed rules, with a detailed report to be submitted. The DM also stressed on the need to provide complete data on both registered and unregistered Madrasas and other educational centres in each tehsil. He directed that in case of registered Madrasas, SDMs must report on their compliance with standards, including the adoption of the NCERT curriculum, provision of mid-day meals, maintenance of cleanliness, lighting, and other basic facilities.
Among those present at the meeting included Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Jai Bharat Singh, Joint Magistrate Gauri Prabhat, Joint Magistrate Shalini Negi, and SDM Vikasnagar Vinod Kumar. SDMs Sadar Harigiri, Doiwala Aparna Dhoundiyal, and Rishikesh Smriti Parmar participated virtually.
