Domicile certificate holders will not be required to produce permanent residence certificate: CM

Dehradun, 20 Dec: Departments will no longer be able to force the holders of the Domicile Certificate in the state to submit the Permanent Residence Certificate. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, orders in this regard have been issued today by Secretary Vinod Suman. The departments have been asked to ensure strict compliance of the orders in this regard.
It may be recalled that it had been brought to the notice of the government that for employment in the state, educational institutions and various other works in the state, the holders of Domicile Certificate of Uttarakhand are being forced to submit permanent residence certificate by the departments, institutions and organisations concerned. Whereas in this regard, through the Government Order No. 60/CM/xxxi (13)G/07-87(3)/2007 dated 28 September 2007 of the General Administration Department, permanent residence certificate is required for the holders of the Domicile certificates. Issuing an order in this regard today, Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that for the purposes for which permanent residence certificate is required, the domicile certificate holders should not be forced to present the permanent residence certificate. He said that strict compliance with the said orders should be ensured.
