Dehradun, 19 Aug: Municipal Commissioner, Dehradun Nagar Nigam, Namami Bansal today reviewed the functioning of the corporation officials during a staff meeting and issued strict directions, particularly to the land section. She made it clear that section officers would be held responsible and accountable if complaints are not resolved within the stipulated time.
In the meeting, officials from various sections of the corporation were present and necessary instructions were issued. The lighting in-charge was directed to submit a clear report on the complaints received daily and their disposal, ensuring that grievances are resolved within the prescribed time and the compliance report was submitted in a timely manner.
The health section was instructed to provide details of vehicles operating in each ward, the number of vehicles lying defunct, and information regarding garbage collection and route coverage. Directions were also issued to carry out necessary measures for vehicle repair and smooth operation of the entire plant.
The land section officials were directed to present a report on the action taken on complaints received, the extent of encroached land freed so far, and to prepare a roster for forthcoming anti-encroachment drives.
For work related to the Public Works Department, officials were instructed to provide updates on the progress of developmental activities. They were further directed to preserve photographs of each work, both before commencement and after completion, in the official file, so as to maintain transparency.
The veterinary section was directed to conduct public awareness campaigns and organise meetings with Resident Welfare Associations and other institutions to curb the growing incidents involving stray animals and dogs in the city. The process of issuing dog licences was also asked to be expedited.
For personnel management, officials of each department were instructed to immediately submit details of vacant and working posts in their respective sections. All nodal officers were directed to take the complaints received through the CM Helpline seriously and ensure their timely disposal.
Bansal further directed all departmental officials to place transparency, speedy resolution of complaints, and public convenience at the highest priority in the functioning of the Nagar Nigam.
