Dehradun, 27 Aug: The Doon School is organising an Inter-School Junior Football Tournament from 27 to 31 August. The inauguration was done by Matthew Raggett, Headmaster, The Doon School.
The participating teams are Scindia School, Gwalior; Vidya Niketan (Birla Public School), Pilani; Woodstock School, Mussoorie; Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun; RIMC, Dehradun; Indian Public School, Dehradun; Kasiga School, Dehradun; Cambrian Hall, Dehradun; SelaQui International School, SelaQui; St Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun; and The Doon School, Dehradun.
The tournament will be played on league-cum-knock out format.
On the first day, The Doon School played Selaqui International School. The match was won by The Doon School, 11-0. The goals were scored by Tarun (3 goals); Neil (6 goals); Vivaan (1 goal); Arjun (1 goal).
In the second match, Vidya Niketan (Birla Public School), Pilani played Scindia School, Gwalior. The match was won by Vidya Niketan (Birla Public School) with a score of 6-0. The goals were scored by Vidya Niketan’s Atharva (3 goals); Yumlam (2 goals); and Ayush (1 goal).
The third match was between St Joseph’s Academy and Kasiga School. It was a 1-1 draw. The goals were scored by St Joseph’s Academy’s Utkarsh and Kasiga School’s Kipa. In another match, RIMC beat Cambrian Hall, 4-0. The goals were scored by
Arnav (2 goals); Nafis (1 goal); and Ankit (1 goal).
