Dehradun, 22 Aug: Dehradun SSP Dalip Singh Kunwar continues in action mode and tough on errant police officials in the district ever since taking over.
Sources in the Dehradun Police today claimed that Kunwar was on a surprise field visit last night in the city when, upon finding the police officials from Araghar Chowki and Rajpur Police Station missing from patrol duty, he suspended the Police Station In charge of Rajpur and Chowki in charge of Araghar Police Chowki this morning.
In addition, 4 constables missing from places where they were supposed to be were also suspended by him. All of the police officers and officials have been suspended for being negligent towards their duty.
It may be recalled that the Dehradun SSP had given instructions to the police officers to maintain vigil at certain identified places at night. To take stock of this, he went out in the field in his private vehicle at night. During the night check, the police personnel of Rajpur and Araghar outposts were missing from places of duty. Angered over this negligence towards duty, the SSP suspended 4 constables along with the in-charge of Rajpur police station and Araghar outpost this morning.
It may be pertinent to remind here that, even before this, the Dehradun SSP has taken strict action against many police officers for being negligent in performance of duty and not working as per the instructions of higher officials.
