Doon Varsity students showcase talent at National Level

Dehradun, 19 Mar: The 39th Inter-University National Youth Festival 2025–26, organised under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, was successfully hosted by Sathyabama University, Chennai, from 10 to 14 March. This five-day festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 125 universities across the country, where students showcased their cultural, literary, and creative talents with great excellence.

The primary objective of the festival is to promote creativity, cultural awareness, peace, and harmony among the youth. The event featured a wide range of competitions, including music, dance, theatre, fine arts, literary events, and cultural procession, providing a vibrant platform for holistic development. It also offered students an opportunity to engage with diverse cultures and foster a spirit of collaboration and mutual understanding.

Students from Doon University delivered an outstanding performance at the festival, earning accolades for their remarkable talent and dedication. The university secured the Second Position in Cultural Procession and the Third Position in Skit/Theatre Competition, thereby bringing pride and recognition to both the university and the state of Uttarakhand at the national level. Their performances reflected creativity, discipline, teamwork, and exceptional stagecraft, which were widely appreciated by both the jury and the audience.

The Doon University team comprised Manasvi, Rajdeep Rana, Anjesh Kumar, Komal, Shaurya, Ananya, Lohitya Singh, Ashutosh Bisht, Aditya Chauhan, Siban, Shashwat, and Sakshi, all of whom represented the university with dedication and delivered commendable performances.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Surekha Dangwal congratulated the students and stated that their hard work, discipline, and talent have brought laurels to the state of Uttarakhand at the national level. She emphasised that such platforms play a crucial role in enhancing students’ confidence, leadership skills, and competitive spirit, which are essential for their future growth.

Cultural Coordinator Dr Chetna Pokhriyal remarked that participation in such national platforms provides students with a wide exposure and an excellent opportunity to showcase their talent, while also helping them understand and appreciate diverse cultures, contributing significantly to their overall personality development.

Registrar Durgesh Dimri, Prof HC Purohit, Prof Harsh Dobhal, Prof Chetan Pokhriyal, Dr Rajesh Bhatt, Dr Kailash Kandwal, along with other faculty members and staff, also extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the students on this remarkable achievement.

The cultural team was led by Dr Ajeet Panwar, whose guidance, mentorship, and dedicated efforts played a vital role in achieving this success.
