Dr S Farooq inaugurates play, ‘Mussoorie 1953’

DEHRADUN, 5 Dec: Khwaja Ahmed Abbas Memorial Trust and India International Centre presented a play on a short story by KA Abbas, “Mussoorie 1953” at India International Centre in New Delhi.
Dr S Farooq, who was the Chief Guest, greeted the organising team and said that the story by Abbas was truly evocative. The writer imparted greatly thoughtful material in the plays. It gave an opportunity to learn the language of society at that time and the social sense. He recalled that Mussoorie was considered the second best night life station after London. He also praised Nayantara Sahgal, who was also present, as a great litterateur. Mr. Tripathi welcomed the guests,
The play was performed by Sunita Chauhan, AV Installation was by Rohan Verma, and back stage management was by Anmol Bhogal and Rohit Kumar. It was directed by Dr Danish Iqbal.
Social Activist Syeda Hameed recalled how the legendary KA Abbas had given many hit films starring Raj Kapoor.
Dr Danish Iqbal proposed the vote of thanks.
