Graphic Era hosts All India Kavi Sammelan

Dehradun, 16 Apr: Graphic Era University yesterday evening hosted an All India level Kavi Sammelan (Poetry Recital) in which leading poets from across the country participated and recited their poetry, enthralling the audience. The audience appeared to be totally immersed in emotions as the stream of poetry flowed. All genres of poetry were visible in the Kavi Sammelan, which focussed more on the current social and political situation of the country. As is usual, it were the satirical poets who made the audience laugh wholeheartedly in their own unique styles. On this occasion, Graphic Era‘s Kavya Gaurav Award was given to Dr Vishnu Saxena.
The Kavi Sammelan was held at the completely occupied Silver Jubilee Convention Centre of Graphic Era and on this occasion, Graphic Era Group of institutions’ Chairman Dr Kamal Ghanshala also participated and he inaugurated the Kavi Sammelan by lighting the ceremonial lamp along with senior poets. The event commenced with Dr Vishnu Saxena‘s rendering of Saraswati Vandana. Audience burst into laughter when Hasya Kavi Chirag Jain talked about day to day life incidents. His poem about Lord Ram was very well received by the audience. Chirag Jain also took a jibe at media through a satirical poem for spreading fake news. He satirically commented that one day he heard the news of his own death on a news channel and he respects the media so much that he had to believe this news story!
While convening the kavi sammelan, renowned poet Dr Praveen Shukla in his style and interesting commentary also made the audience laugh wholeheartedly. The audience kept cheering on his poem also about Lord Ram and the new Ram Temple in Ayodhya!
Dr Vishnu Saxena had to recite several poems on the demand of the audience. Most of his poems recited last evening were romantic in nature.
Dr Kaleen Kaiser was also a hit among the audience. Poet Sudeep Bhola also recited a poem on Ram Mandir and reminded the audience that Ram Temple has been built at the same place where Ram had to spend years in a tent. Pratap Faujdar from Mumbai also regaled the audience. His unique poem was about a humorous interaction with a foreigner.
Graphic Era‘s Kavya Gaurav Award was given to Dr Vishnu Saxena on this occasion. Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, President of Graphic Era Educational Society Laxmi Ghanshala and Graphic Era Group of Institutions’ Vice Chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala honoured Dr Saxena by handing him a cheque of Rs 1.5 lakhs. Pro Chancellor Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor Dr Narpinder Singh, Vice Chancellor Graphic Era Hill University Dr Sanjay Jasola and prominent personalities of Dehradun and officials were present in the event.
