Ecole Girls’ School wins 98 Medals in 18th State Level Shooting Championship

DEHRADUN, 1 Sep: Ecole Global International Girls’ School today announced that 35 students participated in the 18th Uttarakhand Open State Level Shooting Championship and won a total of 98 medals. The championship was held at Jaspal Rana Shooting Range, Dehradun, from 25 to 31 August. The students participated in 22 different categories – 25mtrs Sports Pistol and Standard pistol, 50m Open Sight Women, 50m Open Sight Rifle Junior Women, 50m Peep Sight Rifle Women, et al., and displayed their might by winning 42 Gold, 30 Silver and 26 Bronze medals. Commenting on the win, Roopa Gosain, Officiating Principal of Ecole Global International Girl’s School said, “Our girls have broken records in shooting proving their mettle in the state arena.” Being an open tournament, many eminent schools and clubs from Uttarakhand, namely Doon Club, NCC cadets, Unison, SelaQui, Army School, Clement Town, DPS, Rishikesh, Roorkee, Haridwar, and the like participated in the event. Jagdeep Singh, Director, Sports Department, Haryana, Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, Sushma Singh,Vice President, Indian Rifle Association, Narayan Singh Rana of the State Rifle Association, and Shiv Lal Dogra, HOD, Sports and Shooting Coach, Ecole Global International Girls’ School, were present at the event.
