DEHRADUN, 9 Aug: Ecole Globale International Girls’ School has a standing tradition of preserving culture, heritage and flora and fauna. In order to sensitise its students towards the need to preserve the environment and ecology, a tree plantation drive was organised, today, in the school. The students of classes 4 to 8 actively participated in the drive and planted around 50 saplings within the school premises, followed by various activities. The plantation drive was organised by AIESEC and UNICEF. Principal Roopa Gosain said, “We are happy to organise the planting drive in the school. We firmly believe that we should become true descendants of our Mother Earth by absolving ourselves of petty acts of violation. Today, we pledged to celebrate Green Earth by planting more trees and keeping our environment clean.” The students supported the cause of making a greener environment. The children’s knowledge and awareness of the issues were impressive as the questions asked by them during the activities were intelligent and challenging. The students were accompanied by Principal Gosain and the teachers of the school. The representatives of AISEC were also present on the occasion.
