Dehradun, 8 Dec: Ecole Globale International Girls’ School celebrated its 8th Founder’s Day at its campus, here, today. The evening commenced with an address by the School President, followed by a performance by the Ecole Symphony, reaching of the School Annual Report by the Officiating Principal, an address by the Chief Guest Priya Malik, Release of the Banyan, the Award Ceremony, Felicitation of the Chief Guest, a play, ‘Whispering Waters’, the Vote of Thanks by the Head Girl and the National Anthem.
The Annual Awards for Junior, Middle and Senior categories were presented by the Chief Guest. The ‘Spark of Ecole’ was won by Anika Bhaderia, Divya Godara and Ayat Azim; ‘Walking the Extra Miles’ went to Guarisha Jain, Antara Paul, and Siddhiksha Rana; ‘Overall Excellence’ was bagged by Arshi Grover, Ashi Khetan and Ayushi Pragya; and the ‘Spirit of Ecole’ was won by the juniors Bhavika Gupta and Sadhya Dilawari, Sanya Lakhiya and Sudeepta Talukdar.
The Chief Guest congratulated the students and staff for a very successful year and motivated them to excel in all activities of life and strive to become successful and responsible young ladies of the future. The evening was enjoyed immensely by the parents who were proud to witness the accomplishments of their wards.
Commenting on the occasion, Tarunjyot Singh Juneja, Director, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School, said, “I am elated with the performance of our girls this evening. It gives me immense joy to see them excelling in various fields. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the staff for putting up an excellent show this evening. We will continue our journey to be one of the leading educational institutions of the country.”
The audience was enthralled by the educational play ‘Whispering Waters’, which showcased the importance of water as a commodity in everyday life, the misuse and mistreatment of this precious commodity and the reciprocity of human actions by this precious part of life. The play was based on the scenario that Water has memory and the memory of human misuse and contamination is leading to water scarcity which will affect future generations drastically. Hence, the treatment meted out to water by humans will be reciprocated by water.
Amarjeet Singh Juneja, the President, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School, Officiating Principal, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School, staff of the school and parents of the students were present on the occasion.
Yesterday, the Annual Sports Day was held at the school, with an Oath Taking Ceremony followed by Lighting of the Torch, Geometrical Drill March Past, Horse Riding and Karate displays, and various Athletic as well as other sports events. Hazal (Aqua House) won first position in the long jump (Junior category), Aakansha Raj (Ignis House) won first position in the long jump (senior category), Rupal Jaiswal (Terra House) won first position in shot put (Junior category), Harshika Solanki (Ignis House) won first position in shot put (senior category), Hazel Garg (Aqua House) won first position in cross country (junior category) and Alisha Asim (Terra House) won first position in cross country (senior category).
The Chief Guest, Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, presented the Annual Trophies. Cock House Trophy for overall best performing House was won by Aer House, the Best March Past Trophy went to Aqua House, the Section Trophy was bagged by sub Junior Category – Ignis House, Junior Category – Aer house, Intermediate Categor – Aer House and Senior Category – Terra House. The Best Athlete Trophy was won by Parul Khandelwal.
