DEHRADUN, 7 Dec: Ecole Globale International Girls’ School celebrated its 8th Sports Day with great zeal and excitement. The day commenced with the Annual Exhibition by the students followed by High Tea, Parents Teacher meeting, a sumptuous lunch culminating with various sports activities in the afternoon.
The Sports Day commenced with an Oath Taking Ceremony followed by Lighting of the Torch, Geometrical Drill March Past, Horse Riding and Karate display and various Athletic as well as other sports events. Exhibitions by the Literary, Cookery, Science, Entrepreneur, Photography, Music, Quiz, Nukkad Natak, Art and Pottery club were well received by the parents and other guests who were impressed by the performance and interest standards of the clubs. Parents of all students of the School were invited to attend the events and festivities and were enthralled with the standards displayed by their wards in their enthusiastic participation in the various events.
Hazal (Aqua house) won first position in long jump (junior category), Aakaksha Raj (Ignis house) won first position in long jump (senior category), Rupal Jaiswal(Terra house) won first position in shot put throw (junior category), Harshika Solanki (Ignis house) won first position in shot put throw (senior category), Disha Saran (Aer house) won first position in Javelin (intermediate category), Parul Khandelwal (Aer house) won first position in Javelin (senior category), Hazel Garg (Aqua house) won first position in cross country (junior category) and Alisha Asim (Terra house) won first position in cross country (senior category). The Chief Guest presented the Annual Trophies. Cock House Trophy for overall best performing House was won by Aer House, the Best March Past Trophy went to Aqua house, the Section Trophy was bagged by sub Junior – Ignis house, Junior Aer house, Intermediate Aer Senior Terra house.
Best Athlete Trophy was won by Parul Khandelwal.
The Chief Guest Vice Admiral HCS Bisht in his address impressed upon the importance of sports and fitness in life and motivated the students to maintain their impressive performance. The Sports Day was closed by a Vote of Thanks by the Head Girl, closing March Past, Beating the Retreat and the National Anthem. The performances and festivities were enjoyed thoroughly and well regarded by the parents who were thoroughly impressed with the overall standards of the institution.
Commenting on the occasion, Tarunjyot Singh Juneja, “The journey has been an exciting one so far and I am elated with the way our girls are excelling in different fields. I would like to thank our staff for putting up a great show along with the girls. I am pretty sure that in coming years Ecole will continue its journey of being one of the most sought after educational institutions of the country.”
