Dehradun, 9 Apr: The BJP has described the police action against the killers of Baba Tarsem as a result of the Dhami government’s zero tolerance policy against serious crime. BJP State Spokesman Suresh Joshi, in an informal chat with media persons at the Election Media Centre here, today, claimed that when the unfortunate and cowardly murder of Baba Tarsem singh of Nanakmatta was committed, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had immediately given instructions to the police administration to take strict and quick action to nab the culprits. It was made clear at that time itself that zero tolerance policy would be implemented on this crime which bordered on a terror act. Expressing satisfaction over the prompt action of the police, he said, the killing of Baba Tarsem Singh’s killer in a police encounter shows that it is impossible for the criminals to escape after committing crimes in Uttarakhand.
Joshi said that the encounter and the police action taken on the instructions of CM Dhami on this tragic incident has once again proved that whenever anyone challenges the law and order, it is certain that the law will tighten its grip. By implementing the policy of zero tolerance towards crime, a clear message has been sent that no scoundrel or miscreant within Uttarakhand will dare to take the law into their own hands. Still, if anyone tries to disturb the peace of Uttarakhand, he will have to face due consequences in some form or the other.
