Dehradun, 10 Dec: On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Additional Secretary-level officers are to visit all 95 development blocks in Uttarakhand soon to conduct on-site inspections of state and central government schemes. These officers will stay overnight in villages and interact with local residents to understand their specific problems and gather feedback from them. A government order has been issued in this regard.
The state government has claimed that it is committed to ensuring that the benefits of the double engine government’s schemes reach the last person in the village. CM Dhami has directed all departments to ensure that welfare schemes are accessible to eligible people. The officers visiting the blocks and villages would be required to assess the condition of village development, the status of ongoing schemes, and the specific issues faced by local communities.
According to the government order issued today, the officers are to inspect development schemes, prepare reports on flagship programmes and other important schemes, and participate in key meetings at the block level. They would also be required to verify whether the beneficiary-oriented schemes of the central and state governments are reaching the intended recipients.
Commenting on this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami claimed that his government is serious about providing the benefits of welfare schemes of the state and the central government to every eligible person. He added that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, new momentum is being given to the development of Uttarakhand. The BJP Government in the state is ready to take the resolve of ‘Antyodaya and Garib Kalyan’ towards success. High-level officers have been given the responsibility of monitoring so that development reaches the person standing at the last end of the village. Dhami felt that, if the Additional Secretary-level officers visit the villages, then the government would be able to get complete information about the ground reality of development. By knowing the condition of remote villages, development plans can also be made according to the needs of the villages.
