DEHRADUN, 10 Feb: Him Jyoti School was established in 2005 by then Governor of Uttarakhand, Sudarshan Agarwal, to provide free education to deserving girls from the remote areas of Uttarkhand and Sikkim. Every year, 35 girls are selected for Class V through an entrance exam. The selected students get free education till class XII (CBSE) in a fully equipped residential campus in Dehradun.
The Entrance Exam for Class V (2019-20) was conducted by Him Jyoti School, today. The Exam was held in six centres, namely Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Srinagar. About 400 students sat for the exam this year. The school is a great initiative that adds on to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme!
