DEHRADUN, 7 Dec: Brig KB Chand (Retd), Director, Sainik Welfare and Rehabilitation Board, Uttarakhand, pinned the flag on Governor Baby Rani Maurya on the occasion of ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’ at Raj Bhawan on Friday.
Making her contribution to the ‘Armed Forces Flag Fund’, the Governor called upon the people of the state to contribute generously to show their gratitude towards the soldiers. The fund is used for the welfare of the families of soldiers, ex-servicemen and martyrs.
Conveying her good wishes to families of all the soldiers, ex-servicemen and martyrs on the occasion of ‘Flag Day’, she said that every Indian had great love and admiration for the Armed Forces. “The Forces have always played an important role in external and internal security and saving civilians during natural disasters and other adverse circumstances,” she said.
Secretary to the Governor RK Sudhanshu, and Deputy Director, Sainik Welfare, Uttarakhand, Col Vijay Singh Thapa were present on the occasion.
