DEHRADUN, 19 Aug: On the occasion of World Photography Day, a photography workshop was organised, today, at Graphic Era Hill University. Experts from the industry gave tips on photography to the students of Media and Mass Communication. Renowned lifestyle and travel photographer Abhishek Singh said that students aspiring to pursue a career in photography should be well versed with graphic designing, digital marketing and photo editing. He said that the biggest myth about photography was that only an expensive camera can be used to obtain better images. Good idea and good concept was the key for capturing a good photograph. Sometimes the rules taught in classrooms were not required to get a good photograph. Singh also laid emphasis on the importance of light. Singh said print on demand, open pictures selling platform, e-magazines, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook were platforms that provided immense opportunities to upcoming photographers. Member, Rishikesh Photography Club, Rahul Talwar threw light on the opportunities in mobile photography. Wildlife photographer Rajesh Thapliyal said that patience was the key to wildlife photography. Director, Infrastructure, Graphic Era University, Prof Dr Subhash Gupta, HOD Media and Mass Communication Vikram Rautela, Himani Binjola, Akriti Dhoundiyal, Vipul Tiwari, Vidushi Negi, Sandeep Bhatt, Insaf Khan along with all the students were present on the occasion.
