2-Day International Conference at Graphic Era concludes

Dehradun, 10 Dec: On the last day of International Conference, experts urged the students to contribute to environmental conservation by reducing their carbon footprints.
An International Conference was organized at Graphic Era Deemed University on Current Environment Technologies for Sustainable Development. Experts and researchers from all over the world including India, USA, Canada, Israel and Portugal participated in this conference via online and offline mode. In the conference, experts suggested various technologies for Environmental Conservation including gene mining to enhance soil quality, use of biodegradable packaging, treatment of polluted water using sustainable bio- absorbents and photocatalytic degradation.
An Eco – Mela was also organized in the two day international conference in which Biosynth of Ranjan Ghosh and team shining star of Himani Jadega and Akansha Pal were awarded a cash prize of 20,000 rupees for their outstanding prototype. A total of 120 research papers and posters were presented in the conference. In the various categories of paper presentation competition, awards were given to Naresh Thakur, Pratiksha, Shaili Chauhan, Tushar Kumar, Dr Deepak Kholiya, Bindiya, Pooja Kala, etc. Divya Rawat and Santoshi won the awards for best poster presentation.
During the valedictory session, Chief Guest Prof Sadhan Kumar Ghosh from Jadavpur University, Kolkata administered oath to faculty members and students to raise awareness about protection of environment among the public.
The International Conference was organized by Department of Environmental Science. HoD Dr Pratibha Naithani, Convener Dr Suman Naithani, Dean (Projects) Prof Pradeep Kumar Sharma, HoD of Department of Petroleum Engineering Dr Virendra Bahadur Singh, Prof BS Bisht, Co- convener Ashish Kumar Arya, Organizing Secretary Dr Rachan Karmakar, Dr Adhirath Mandal, Dr Devashish Mitra, Head of Bureau of Indian Standards, Saurabh Tiwari, Nikhil Ranjan Behera and Saurav Sati were present.
