U’khand’s culture to shine at World Ayurveda Congress & Arogya Expo

Dehradun, 10 Dec: The World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2024, to be held from 12 to 15 December at the Parade Ground here, will showcase Uttarakhand’s rich culture from food to various cultural events. More than two dozen food items are on the menu from hill cuisine which will be served to delegates from India and abroad. A four-day menu has been prepared, and cultural programmes featuring Mangal Gayan, Chholiya, and other Uttarakhandi dances will take place over two days.

AYUSH Secretary Ravinath Raman stated that the event would highlight Uttarakhand’s culture through the delegates’ food and cultural programmes. The menu for the delegates includes

Manduva roti, homemade butter, ghee-baked ghat stuffed roti, mustard vegetable, ghat dal/tuvar dal, red sathi rice, jhangora kheer, timru chutney, spinach kafli, urad dal, red sathi rice, bal mithai, rotne, bhangera/bhangjeera chutney, potato thichwani, bhatt ki chutkani, jhangora rice, singori mithai, banana gulgula, white roasted bhatt and sesame chutney.

The Uttarakhandi folk music programmes that will be performed include Jaagar by noted singer Pritam Bhartwan and folk music by Sangeeta Dhaundiyal, Maangal Gaayan by Kanchan Bhandari and group and Chholiya Dance by Udyanchal Parvatiya Kala Samiti, Kumaoni Folk Dance by Nav Himalaya Folk Committee and Garhwali Folk Dance by Brahma Kamal Cultural Committee. In addition, Sparsh Janjaati Committee will perform Jaunsari folk dance.

The World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2024 is a significant event for Uttarakhand, promoting Ayurveda and the state’s culture both nationally and internationally.
