Dehradun, 10 Dec: The State Government has claimed that Uttarakhand is set to create a new record in the World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2024. The AYUSH Department has shared that more than 6,500 registrations have already been received for this ‘Maha Kumbh’ of Ayurveda. This four-day international convention is scheduled to begin on 12 December in Dehradun. In the ninth edition held in Goa last year, a total of 5,102 delegates had participated in the Ayurveda Congress. Based on current registrations, Uttarakhand is likely to achieve a significant milestone in participation.

Commenting on the development, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has staged that Uttarakhand is the land of AYUSH and considers it a privilege to host this world-class Ayurveda event. He expressed confidence that the brainstorming sessions with subject experts will awaken global awareness in the field of Ayurveda.

It may be recalled that the World Ayurveda Congress has been organised since 2002, and, this year, Uttarakhand is hosting the event. The number of delegates has varied over the years, but current registrations indicate a very wide interest in attending the event in Uttarakhand. According to AYUSH Secretary Ravinath Raman, preparations for the event are in full swing, aiming to make it an unprecedented success.

Uttarakhand is also focussing on the number of countries and representatives participating in the World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo-2024. Last year, 53 countries had participated, with 295 foreign delegates attending. This year, Uttarakhand expects representation from more than 54 countries and a significantly higher number of foreign delegates as participants.
