Factory producing banned narcotics busted in Doon

Dehradun, 6 Dec: Sahaspur Police have raided a drug manufacturing factory operating under the guise of a herbal pharmaceutical company on Langha Road under their jurisdiction. The Doon Police raided the factory and arrested three individuals, including the factory owner. The action has been taken on the basis of a tip. A large quantity of drugs and syrups was recovered from the possession of the accused, who were using banned chemicals and salt formulations to produce the banned drugs. This factory was operating under the name Green Herbal Company.

The factory operator was allegedly manufacturing drugs in accordance with the demand received and took care never to keep additional stock for fear of getting caught. The accused persons are learnt to have previously worked in a factory in the Selaqui area, where they learned to make narcotics and fake medicines. The police have registered a case under the relevant sections at Sahaspur Police Station.

SSP, Dehradun, Ajai Singh stated that the police team arrested the factory owner Sanjay Kumar, along with two other accused, Shivkumar and Rehman. They have been interrogated, and efforts are underway to arrest two other accused, Rishabh Jain and Kanhaiya Lal, involved in the manufacture of illegal drugs.

Vikasnagar CO Bhaskar Lal Shah shared that the shop and the manufacturing unit located on Langha Road had a licence for manufacturing herbal medicines but was manufacturing narcotic drugs. The joint team recovered a large quantity of narcotic capsules, tablets, and syrups. The authorities have instructed the parties concerned to cease operations and are monitoring the situation closely.
