Govt committed to ensuring excellence in education: Dhami

CM inaugurates Mallikarjun School in Lohaghat

Lohaghat (Champawat), 6 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Mallikarjun School here today.  Addressing the gathering, he emphasised that the government aims to provide better education to the children of the city. He also acknowledged that the school would work for the vision of the late Mallikarjun Joshi to offer excellent and quality education.

Dhami praised the students for their impressive laboratory experiments and wished them a bright future ahead. He observed that the children of Mallikarjun Vidyalaya are the future, aspiring to become doctors, engineers, scientists, journalists, and administrators, leading in their respective fields.

The CM stressed that education starts with parents and is further nurtured by schools, playing a crucial role in the personality development of children. He noted that educational institutions are vital pillars of society, emphasising the importance of developing children’s overall personality along with providing education. He commented that the new school is expected to help students achieve success in education and competitive exams by providing employment-oriented education. In his address, Dhami also referred to the new education policy, which he claimed, promotes scientific thinking among children and youth. He highlighted that Uttarakhand is the first state to implement this policy in school education, aiming to restore the glory of India’s ancient education system.

Dhami reaffirmed his commitment to making Uttarakhand the best state in the country and reminded that teachers’ role is crucial in providing quality education. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions India as a developed nation by its 100th year of independence, with education as a top priority.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the youth from mountainous and border areas, expecting them to make significant achievements globally. He also noted Uttarakhand’s recognition as a model state for its historical decisions, including strict actions against cheating and fraud in competitive examinations and implementing the country’s toughest anti-cheating law.

Dhami stated that various state initiatives, such as the Uniform Civil Code, actions against land mafias, and the Sustainable Development Goals, have placed Uttarakhand at the top in the country. He mentioned new projects approved by the Government of India, including medical colleges and an AIIMS in Udham Singh Nagar, which will provide employment opportunities.

The CM also claimed that the government is making serious efforts towards women empowerment and has also launching the House of Himalaya brand for economic uplift of the local people, especially the women.
