FDP on ‘Quality Enhancement of Pharmaceutical Research’ begins at U’chal Varsity



Dehradun, 8 Jul: A two-week Faculty Development Programme on “Quality Enhancement of Pharmaceutical Research: Traditional Knowledge System to Futuristic Approach” was inaugurated at Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, here, today. Renowned guest speakers from the national level were invited to share their wisdom and vast experience on the topic.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial as a tribute to Goddess Saraswati by Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, keynote speaker Prof (Dr) Ranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, Shobhit University, Gangoh, Saharanpur, Dean Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, HOD Dr Nidhi Gairola along with the UIPS faculty members.

Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola in his address welcomed all guests and eminent speakers. Prof Singh highlighteds the most important guidelines and practices of quality in Pharmaceutical Education. He also discussed the recent NEP, UGC guidelines, and PCI ordinance.

Prof Dharam Buddhi also shared his views on the faculty development programme and asserted the importance of the latest technologies’ involvement and utilisation to make an impact on teaching and learning.

The event was conducted by the organisers Dr Supriyo Saha, Jyotsana Suyal and Shalu Verma.

In the afternoon session, Dr Nidhi Nainwal welcomed the online session’s keynote speaker, Prof (Dr) Dilip Kumar Pal.  The title of his talk was “Lead discovery in relation to stereochemical approaches”. Prof Pal described different methods for determining the nature of racemic modifications, Isomerism, Enantiomers, and a total overview of stereochemistry linked with biological activity.

At the end of the day, Dr Nidhi Nainwal proposed the vote of thanks.
