DEHRADUN, 14 Sep: Addressing a press conference on his upcoming film, “Hindutva”, at Madhuban hotel on Rajpur Road here, today, filmmaker Karan Razdan said, “Hindutva is all about love, friendship, student politics and the true essence of Hinduism. The film depicts even those details about Hinduism which even many Hindus may not be aware of.” He added, “Hindutva is being wrongly described as radical and extremist, especially in a certain section of the media and political circles. People claiming that there is a great difference between Hinduism and Hindutva are confused. According to them Hinduism is supposed to be a peaceful way of life while Hindutva is radical and extremist. However, the reality is that they do not understand that Hinduism translated in Hindi literally means Hindutva. My film Hindutva in fact goes ten steps forward and tells these so-called secularists what Hindutva actually means. There has been a lot of Hindu bashing by Bollywood, whether it is us as a people or our Gods and Goddesses. We have all been shown in either negative light by Bollywood or in a farcical manner. Both are unacceptable for me and that is how my film Hindutva was born.”

Film Actor and senior journalist Satish Sharma, who has done a cameo in the film and CoProducer Sachin Chaudhary were also present at the Press Conference. The film also stars Aashiesh Sharma, Sonarika Bhadoria, Ankit Raj, Dipika Chikhalia, Govind Namdev and Anup Jalota in major roles.

Karan Razdan has written films like Dilwale, Trimurti, Dushmani, Diljale and directed films like Girlfriend and Mr Bhatti on Chhutti. He has always tapped different and bold subjects and his upcoming movie Hindutva also is unique in its own way.

It may be recalled that, yesterday, Karan Razdan and the producers of the film called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. During this, the Chief Minister released the poster of film “Hindutva” set to be released on 7 October. The Chief Minister had a long discussion with filmmaker director Karan Razdan about the film, and also congratulated him and his team for making the film on this subject.

Chief Minister Dhami said that many Bollywood films and web series are being filmed in Uttarakhand. He said that it is the endeavour of the government to help the filmmakers at the government level, so that more films and web series could be picturised in Uttarakhand in the future.

Sharing his experience with the film director, the Chief Minister said he had seen Prithviraj Chauhan and Kashmir Files and he would definitely watch Hindutva as well.

Razdan said that, while the film would promote the values of Hindutva in the country and the world, on the other hand, Uttarakhand tourism would also get a boost from the scenes depicted in it.

During this, the co-producers of the film Sachin Chaudhary and Sumit Adlakha were also present during the meeting.
