Dehradun, 29 Mar: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande briefed the media at the Secretariat Media Centre, here, today.
He disclosed that the electoral rolls for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 have been finalised in the state.
At the time of final publication of the electoral roll, a total of 83,37,914 (83.38 lakh voters) voters are registered in the state. This includes 43,17,579 male voters and 40,20,038 female voters. In addition, 297 voters are registered as belonging to the third gender. The number of service voters in the state is 93,187 of which 90,554 are male service voters and 2,633 are female service voters.
The Additional Chief Electoral Officer said that a total of 11,729 polling stations have been set up in the state. Twelve polling parties will leave for their polling stations three days before voting. Eleven of these polling stations have been identified in Uttarkashi district and 1 polling station in Pithoragarh district as remotely located. Also, 705 polling parties will leave for the polling station two days before voting, while 11,012 polling parties will leave for the polling station a day before voting. The maximum number of polling parties leaving two days before voting are 181 in Pauri district and 136 in Almora district.
