Flowers showered from choppers to welcome Kanwarias in U’khand

Dehradun, 22 Jul: As directed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Yogendra Rawat showered flowers from a helicopter over the Kanwarias walking on the Kanwar Patti along the Narsan border of Haridwar district to welcome them into the state. Devotees were welcomed by showering flowers from the helicopter over the Kanwariyas. This sequence of showering flowers on the devotees was followed till Bairagi Camp, Shankaracharya Chowk, Har ki Pauri and Upper Road. Kanwariyas were seen overwhelmed seeing the flowers being showered on them and appreciated the welcome accorded to them in this unique manner. They were also appreciative of the arrangements being made by the government. At the time when the flowers were being showered on Kanwarias from the helicopter, the whole area resonated to the echo of Bam-Bam Bhole.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had also welcomed Shiva devotees at Ganga Ghat near Dam Kothi in Haridwar on Wednesday. He had welcomed the devotees of Shiva who had come to Uttarakhand in the Kanwar Yatra by washing their feet and offering them Ganga Jali. Every day, lakhs of Shiva devotees are participating in the Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar to seek the blessings of Mother Ganga. Till now, lakhs of Shiva devotees have returned to their destination with holy Ganga water. After offering Gangajal in the shrines of their respective regions, their journey is completed. The Kanwar Yatra will conclude on 26 July.
