Folk singer Reshma Shah’s album ‘Meri Dadani’ released in Mussoorie

Mussoorie, 15 Feb: The new album, ‘Meri Dadani’, of Uttarakhand folk singer Reshma Saha, who was awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Youth Award, was released by Neha Joshi, BJYM National Vice President at a programme organised in the auditorium of a local hotel, today. Based on the culture of Uttarakhand, this album also stars Reshma Shah. She hopes that people will like her songs and album as before.

Shah said that Meri Dadani depicts the mountain culture and civilisation. She revealed that, along with the folk artists of Uttarakhand, she will go to Hong Kong on 26 February for a tour that will project the folk culture of Uttarakhand on the world stage. She said that the expatriates of India and Uttarakhand living abroad from time to time invite the folk artists of the state and relive their culture. Even today, people like old folk songs a lot and currently some singers are doing the work of putting fusion in folk songs which people like for some time only.

Neha Joshi said that Reshma Shah has also received the National Award and for the way she is promoting the culture of Uttarakhand in the country and abroad and is trying to make the dialect spoken here available to the common people. She expressed the hope that folk singers Reshma Shah will also be honoured with awards like the Padma Shri.

On this occasion Pushpa Padiyar, Narendra Padiyar and many others were also present.
