Follow-up review held of Investors’ Summit MoUs

DEHRADUN, 2 Jan: Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh held a review meeting to follow-up on MoUs signed during the Investors’ Summit at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
He directed the Industry Department’s Monitoring and Follow-up Cell to continuously contact the investors and solve their problems. He instructed setting up of the industries in a time-bound manner. So far, 602 investors have signed MoUs of Rs 1.24 lakh crores. The Chief Secretary held project-wise detailed discussions regarding the implementation of MoUs worth Rs 9530 crores. Discussions were held regarding an investment target of Rs 10,000 crores in the next three months.
He held discussions with the nodal officers on timely implementation.
IT Secretary RK Sudhanshu provided detailed information on the progress of the proposals received pertaining to AYUSH and Information Technology. He said that work on 2 projects in IT was progressing and 6 proposals were to be filled in the CAF soon. He added that, in AYUSH, proposals worth Rs 211.5 crore had come, work on one was underway, and 7 proposals would be executed in 3 months. One proposal would begin in 6 months.
Additional Secretary/Director, Solar Power, Alok Shekhar Tiwari said that the tender for the allocation of three small hydro projects in Pithoragarh district would be invited in the coming week. He said that the construction cost of these three projects of 40 MW was approximately Rs 400 crore. For solar energy projects of 200 MW capacity, the tender process was under progress and Rs 800 crore of investment was expected. Director, Industries, Dr Sudhir Nautiyal said investment proposals worth Rs 4000 crore in manufacturing had begun being implemented. He stated that investors’ problems were being solved immediately through the single window system and all investors were being encouraged to file CAF applications soon.
The meeting was conducted by Principal Secretary, Industries, Manisha Panwar. Officers of various departments were present at the meeting.
