DEHRADUN, 19 Jan: FTII Managing Director Bhupendra Kainthola met the Director General, Information, Deepender Chaudhary at the Directorate of Information on Saturday. He told that a one-day workshop ‘Admission-2019’ for film education is being organized in the Directorate of Information Dehradun.
Kainthola said that there are many opportunities for youth in the film industry for which various courses, including Film and Television Education, Cinematography, Film Appreciation, Screen Acting, Photography etc, are being offered by FTII. These trainings will increase the employment opportunities for the youth. He said that if there is skilled human resource in Uttarakhand in the field of film, then there will be a chance for the local youth to work in the films that will be shot in the state. Kainthola has sought cooperation for undertaking such courses from time to time in Uttarakhand.
DG, Information, Chaudhary said that there is talent in the youth of Uttarakhand. For bringing excellence in such talent, full support will be provided to FTII for such courses. He further said that Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has taken several effective steps to promote films in the state.
With the support of Uttarakhand Film Development Council, one-day workshop on “Admission -2019” was organized in Dehradun by FTII, Pune. About 35-40 students participated in the workshop. Students took information from experts regarding Joint Entrance Test (JET). Kainthola gave detailed information about Joint Entrance Test (JET). He told that at present, technically skilled human resources are needed in the film sector. He told the students that the youth, who created a career in this field should work together for the preparation of the exam. Application for the examination can be submitted online and its last date is January 31, 2019. So far, more than 2000 youth have been registered. This examination will be held on 24th February 2019.
The workshop was also addressed by the national level award winner and filmmaker Shalini Shah and Nainital resident Cinematographer Rajesh Shah and Dinesh Juyal. They also shared their experiences with the students.
The main purpose of this workshop was to clarify the doubts of the students for the upcoming FTII entrance examinations. Information about the Joint Entrance Test (JET) can be procured from the website of FTII, Pune. Candidates can apply online at https/applyadmission-net@jet2019
