Dehradun, 23 Sep: Young upcoming bowlers playing in various club level teams of Doon would not have imagined that they would one day be bowling to players like Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. But that is exactly what happened. The international cricketers from eight countries reached Doon for the Road Safety World Series and young local players got a chance to bowl to them in the nets.

From fast bowlers to leg spinners, from off spinners to mystery bowlers, whether it be the skill of swinging the ball, or making it seam off the surface, every skill is coming in handy as everyone is getting plenty of opportunities to bowl to the legendary international cricketers. Many players from Doon have been called to bowl in the nets on the days the teams practiced at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy and the Raipur International Cricket Stadium.

Akhilesh Uniyal got India Legends to practice batting against his bowling. When Akhilesh came out after bowling to Suresh Raina for a long time, happiness was clearly visible on his face. Deep Baunthiyal sweated it out with other players. Ritesh Kshetri bowled to numerous other players including Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya. Dharmendra Singh Negi, Shubham Pundir and Ajay Dimri also got a chance to bowl in the nets.
