Dehradun, 29 Apr: Doon University organised a G–20 intra-department bilingual essay and quiz competition to commemorate the presidency of the G–20 summit 2023 going on in India. The occasion was organised under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof Surekha Dangwal, who encouraged the students to participate in large numbers and project their visionary spectrum of ideas and consideration regarding the sustainable building of a nation and its impression on a global level. The session started with the arrival of 50 teams filled with avidness and enthusiasm for showcasing their inclination for the G–20 event through this competition. The themes of the competition were created out of the conviction to provide the youth an opportunity to convey their constructive ideas with respect to the G–20: the opportunity for India to showcase its leadership at the global level; the approach of youth for life in relation to resilience, resolve, and responsiveness; and the G–20 as a medium to bridge the gender divide. The university created this opportunity as a stepping stone for the students to further transform it into an intra-university-level competition with much larger participation. The participants left with indeed an enriching and uplifting experience successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr RP Mamgain, Dr Chetana Pokhriyal, NPTC Chair Professor AC Joshi, and Dr Gazala Khan.
