Girls outshine boys in 10th, 12th Uttarakhand Board exams

DEHRADUN, 30 April: Priyanshi Rawat, a student of Gangolihat in Kumaon region has topped the 10h examinations, while Piyush Kholia and Kanchan Joshi stood first in 12th class exams of the Uttarakhand Board of School Education, the results for which were declared on Tuesday.
Announcing the results, the Board Chairman Mahavir Singh Bisht said the total result in the intermediate was 82.63 percent and in the high school it was 89.14 percent.
Rawat a student of GBS GIC Gangolihaat Pithoragarh topped the state 10th exams by scoring 500 out of 500 marks.
Kholia of Vivekanand inter-college Ranidham Road Almora and Joshi, a student of HGSSVMIC Kusumkheda Haldwani secured the top positions by securing identical 498 marks out of 500. Under the council examination-2024, the total result of the intermediate was 82.63 percent while the result of the high school was 89.14 percent which was more than that of last year.
The Board Chairman Bisht declared the results of high school and intermediate of Uttarakhand Board at 1130 AM. This time 89.14 percent children have passed in high schools and 82.63 percent in the inter-exams.
In the pass percentage of the high schools, 85.59 percent boys and 92.54 percent girls have passed. In the Intermediate, 78.97 percent boys and 85.96 percent girls have passed.
This time 116379 institutional and individual candidates appeared in the high school examination and 94768 candidates appeared in the intermediate board examination. The results of a total of 211147 candidates were declared. The evaluation work was done between March 27 and April 10.
Among the top three students of Uttarakhand Board‘s 10th class, Shivam Maletha of Rudraprayag secured second position by scoring 498 out of 500 marks. Ayush of VMIC Shrikot Ganganali Pauri Garhwal secured third position by scoring 495 out of 500 marks.
Meanwhile, among the top three students of 12th class, Anshul Negi of APIC Jawahar Nagar Rudraprayag secured second position by scoring 485 marks out of 500 and Harish Chandra Bijalwan of SVMIC Awas Vikas Rishikesh secured third position by scoring 480 marks out of 500.
This year 115666 candidates had registered for the high school board examination. Out of which 112377 students appeared in the examination and 100179 candidates passed. Out of which the passing percentage of institutional candidates was 89.56 while the passing percentage of individual candidates was 58.80.
Similarly, 94255 candidates had registered for the intermediate board examination, out of which 92020 students appeared in the examination and 76039 candidates passed. In this, the passing percentage of institutional candidates was 83.76 and the passing percentage of individual candidates was 54.14.
