Gov, Arushi Nishank discuss prospects for film-making in U’khand

Dehradun, 23 July: Arushi Nishank is a renowned Kathak dancer, actor, film producer, environmentalist, TedX speaker and national convener of Sparsh Ganga.

On her visit to Uttarakhand recently, she met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd). At their meeting, they discussed about the long term vision for the state, his ideas and perceptions for the women in the state, particularly on helping them use their potential to the fullest.

The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the potential for film making in the state. They agreed that shooting of films should be supported as it would showcase the beauty of Uttarakhand and the locals, which would also help the economy and create employment. They further discussed new age technologies like AI, its potential and limitations and also the migration problem in the state which is a prominent issue.

Arushi Nishank gained immense popularity through her appearance in the hit music video “Wafa Na Raas Aaye” by Jubin Nautiyal, which has garnered over 295 million views on T- Series’ official YouTube channel.

Arushi is a persuasive social activist and environmental conservationist, dedicated to causes such as preserving the River Ganga through her NGO, Sparsh Ganga, and making the Ganga pollution free through the Namami Ganga campaign. She is also actively involved in tree planting initiatives for environmental conservation.
