Dehradun, 10 Feb: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) attended the “Pariksha Pe Charcha-2025” programme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday at Doon International School, Dalanwala. During the programme, the Prime Minister interacted with students, offering valuable suggestions on managing exam stress, maintaining self-confidence, and staying mentally strong.
After the programme, the Governor addressed the students, stating that the Prime Minister’s interaction not only resolves the doubts of students, parents and teachers but also boosts their confidence. He emphasised viewing exams not as a burden but as a positive opportunity. The Governor highlighted the Prime Minister’s idea that students should compete with themselves rather than others. He expressed hope that this programme would help create a stress-free environment for both students and their parents, thereby enhancing their confidence.

Lt Gen Singh further mentioned that every individual has some unique talent that needs to be recognised and nurtured. He urged parents and teachers to understand children’s interests and encourage them to advance in their careers. The Governor reminded students that there is no substitute for hard work in achieving success. Time spent in rigorous effort is never wasted, as it forms the foundation for future success.
The Governor particularly emphasised the importance of adopting the habit of writing, noting that written words stay with one longer. He urged students to adapt to changing times and embrace the latest technologies to successfully face upcoming challenges.
The Governor called on students to internalise the Prime Minister’s suggestions, stating that this programme would help make them self-reliant, confident, and stress-free.
The programme was attended by MLA Khajan Das, Director General, School Education, Jharnā Kamthan, School Chairman DS Mann, Director HS Maan, Principal Dinesh Barthwal, and the students of the school.
