Dehradun, 14 Nov: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) celebrated Children’s Day with the girls of Him Jyoti School. The girls of the school came to the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday and were greeted on Children’s Day.

While interacting with the girls, the Governor gave his blessings for their bright future. Addressing them, the Governor said that they should always have a big goal in life and work hard to achieve it. Self-confidence and discipline are necessary to achieve any goal. Every person has some special talent, it is important to identify it and move forward in that field. Children were asked to develop the habit of always waking up early in the morning and being happy.

The Governor reminded that children are the future of the country. “It is our responsibility to provide good education and better health to the children for a better future of the country,” he asserted. “This responsibility increases further considering that India has the largest number of children and youth. Children should be provided with all-round development and opportunities to move forward.”

The Governor expressed confidence that the India of the future would scale new heights under the leadership of the children and youth.

On this occasion, the Governor’s wife, Gurmeet Kaur, School Trustee Hemant K Arora and Headmistress Ruma Malhotra were also present.
